DISNEY'S THE LION KING, JR.
PRESENTED BY IMMANUEL LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Tickets available here!
Immanuel Lutheran School-Batavia is proud to present Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. on Fri., Apr. 20 at 6:30 PM and Sun., Apr. 22 at 2 PM. Tickets for the performances are $2 each and will be available here beginning Apr. 3. This is a wonderful, wallet-friendly event for the whole family!
The Lion King, Jr. is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Traymor and the animated feature film released in 1994. The production being presented by Immanuel has been adapted for students, but features classic songs from the 1994 film such as HakunaMatata and the Academy Award®-winning Can You Feel the Love Tonight, as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.
This is the second annual spring musical presented by Immanuel Lutheran School. Last year Kindergarten-Grade 8 students presented Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat to rave reviews from parents, congregation members, and the community. By popular demand, a second performance has been added to this year’s show.
The Lion King, Jr. is directed and produced by parent volunteers Bill McLane and Rebecca Bello. Immanuel’s Director of Youth Ministries, Kari Larsen, is coordinating choreography and ILS music teacher Katie Rudy is guiding students through the often complex musical numbers; some of which are sung in Swahili. Students not only perform in the show, but will be working with the Director of Marketing and Communications to coordinate and implement the marketing plan, with Technical Directors Amy Kennaugh and Heather Davis on set design and construction and the technical execution of the production.
The community is invited to enjoy this uplifting and heart-warming production of Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, located at 950 Hart Road, Batavia. Questions may be directed to the school office at 630 406 0157 or email@example.com.
