Pastor Kennaugh was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan (NW suburb of Detroit). He was raised in the Episcopal Church and began exploring the Lutheran church while at Western Michigan University. He joined Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Bethesda, Maryland in 1996 while attending Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. He then attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (1998-2001). He vicared (student interned) at St. Mark, Brunswick, Ohio (1999-2000). He has served as associate pastor at Trinity, Baton Rouge, Louisiana (2001-2003), sole pastor of Risen Christ, Springfield, Ohio (2003-2014), and Immanuel, Batavia, Illinois (2014 – present). He is married to Amy (Freeland) on May 25, 1996 with three daughters: Mikayla, Jocelyn, and Kera. He is also a certified personal, ministry and executive coach and serves on the board of directors for CoachAdvance.

Donna is Immanuel Lutheran School's principal and brings with her a host of experience as a principal and teacher. Her experience as a teacher and an administrator is apparent and her quiet leadership sets the tone for learning and sharing the love of Jesus with staff, students, and families.

Sharon Dalpini joined the staff of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in 1993. She began her ministry at Immanuel as the first Kindergarten teacher, a position she held for eight years, as well as church music director, adult and children's choir director, and organist.

As the school continued to grow, she moved from her postion as Kindergarten teacher into her current role as physical education teacher and music education teacher. Sharon also serves as the school athletic director and one of the girls' basketball coaches.

Kari Larsen is the full time director of youth ministry at Immanuel. She graduated from Concordia University-Chicago in 2005 and received a Director of Christian Education degree with an emphasis in youth ministry. As the director of youth ministry she is responsible for the middle school and high school youth programming. She appreciates the team ministry atmosphere and is truly blessed to serve such an amazing and caring congregation.

Mary is the AM fourth grade teacher; she teaches science, social studies, art, computers, handwriting, and religion. She also co-directs all the Children's Ministries at Immanuel--Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Preconfirmation. Through her ministry at Immanuel she enjoys teaching children and letting them know how important they are to her, but most importantly how important they are to Jesus and how much He loves them. Immanuel is a great place to learn about Jesus and to share that love of Jesus with others.

She enjoys cooking, eating, and working out. Megan and her husband, Carsten, are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church and their two children, Mason and Ally, both attend school at Immanuel. Besides being the school recruiter, she is the lead on the Immanuel Lutheran Operation Christmas Child packing party.

Penny Janacek is Immanuel's church secretary and has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 28 years. She has work in clerical and office positions since the age of 19 and continues to participate in computer training classes. Penny is married with two grown children and four grandchildren and has lived in Batavia for more than 40 years.

Heidi is one of Immanuel's school secretaries and lives in Batavia with her husband and two sons. They are members of Immanuel and their sons attended ILS from Together With Jesus through eighth grade. They both attend the University of Iowa. Heidi attended Lutheran schools through high school and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BS in Business Education. She worked in the business environment for 13 years as an administrative assistant before moving to Batavia.

Wendy Nelson serves as assistant in the four year old preschool classroom, as well as the teacher and facilitator of the Sing and Play program. She previously served as Immanuel's second grade teacher from 1998-2003. Wendy attended Concordia University Chicago, earning her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Proverbs 16:9, ``In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.`` ``God's guiding hand has always been leading me towards children. I can say with confidence that my Father has established my steps to serve Him in this ministry. He has blessed me in many wonderful ways and given me many talents to share in His kingdom, but this special gift is where He has been leading me all my life. I sometimes joke that I am a ``child-magnet,`` but I also see this as a beautiful part of His plan for me. It is an absolute joy to serve Him at Immanuel, with my fellow teachers who understand and feel this same bring the light and love of Christ to children.``

Teri and her family reside in Sugar Grove and are active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She and her husband Steve have three adult children and four grandchildren. Two grandchildren attend Immanuel Lutheran School. Terri is also a Stephen Minister and Vacation Bible School volunteer at Immanuel. She attended a Lutheran school Kindergarten through ninth grade in Wisconsin and graduated from Concordia University-Chicago with a BA in elementary education with concentrations in Mathematics and Youth Ministry. She is also a preschool Sunday School teacher and VBS volunteer. Carla and her husband Matt have been members of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2002. Bill is a 4th grade teacher at Immanuel. He attended Immanuel from Preschool through Grade 8, attended high school at Aurora Christian. He graduated from Augustana College with a BA in History and Secondary Education. He was in one of the first classes to graduate from Immanuel Lutheran School and has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2007. His mother and two sisters (Lolita, Angie, and Melissa) are also members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Penny has been involved with Lutheran schools since the age of five. Her entire education, including her post-graduate work, has been in Lutheran schools. Besides teaching fifth grade, she is a parent volunteer in confirmation class, is part of the annual ILS Talent Show team, and coaches cheerleading. Her husband David and son Josh are also members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Barb Iteen is Immanuel's eighth grade homeroom teacher and teaches sixth through eighth grade social studies and grammar. Barb graduated from Central Michigan University, took several graduate courses from Michigan State University, and received her colloquy from Concordia University. She and her husband Gary sing in the Christus Choir at Immanuel. Barb enjoys seeing her students find success in learning as they discover their trengths and use them to glorify God. She also enjoys walking, reading, spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling to new places, and relishing time spent with family and friends in Ludington, Michigan, where she and her husband have a second home.

Teri Pohorsky assists the teachers in the administration of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment to students in first through eighth grades and administers the Dibels assessment for reading fluency to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. She teaches small groups during the day to reinforce learning. Teri graduated from Iowa State University where she met her husband Jim. Teri also received a Reading Specialist degree from Concordia University Chicago. Teri and Jim's oldest son Nick attends Iowa State University. Teri and Jim have two younger sons, Charlie who is attending Waubonsee and Matt who attends Batavia High School. The Pohorskys are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Teri’s favorite part of teaching at Immanuel is when she can see a student develop into a reader. Teri says, ``I know that God is working when they look up and say, 'I can read this Mrs. Pohorsky!'``
