BACK TO LEARN MORE

"We believe that each child is a special gift of God and is to be encouraged to develop socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and spiritually. Our goal is to accept and affirm each child’s unique competence as a learner today, rather than just making a child “ready” for future learning. Each child is provided with appropriate activities that will challenge the child to continued growth to reach his or her potential.

"As the child experiences these truths, he or she grows in self-esteem, accepting both his or her God-given gifts and limitations. This becomes the foundation for learning, enabling the child to respond boldly and confidently as God’s child and as a life-long learner."

--2017-2018 ILS Student and Family Handbook

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School is part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and has been providing academic excellence since 1989. As part of the church and school's mission to Develop Today's Disciples, all students participate in regularly scheduled chapel services and all age levels participate in projects that serve the local community: processing food at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Feed My Starving Children, visiting with residents at Holmstad once a month, designing handmade greeting cards for shut-ins, and donating items for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.

The focus at Immanuel Lutheran School is providing a quality Christian education and meeting the needs of students today, while striving to make them ready to meet their next academic challenges. More than 50 percent of the faculty hold Masters degrees and all are experienced classroom teachers.Immanuel students consistently score well above national means on MAP Testing in all areas, including math, reading, and language.

Immanuel Lutheran School understands the importance of educating the whole child. Extra curriculars include band, orchestra, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, basketball, and track. The ILS girls cross country team are 2014 Lutheran National Champions, boys and girls varsity basketball teams are regular Lutheran State Tournament participants, and three Immanuel student track and field athletes are recent individual Lutheran State Champions.

Immanuel graduates have successfully moved onto Aurora Christian Schools, Aurora Central Catholic High School, Marmion Academy, Rosary High School, Benet Academy, Batavia High School, Geneva High School, and the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora. In addition, several of our Immanuel graduates have been accepted into the United States Air Force Academy and West Point.
