MAP Test Scores We administer the Measures of Academic Progress assessment three times during the school year to establish benchmarks for student academic growth. The ISBE is prohibited from collecting parochial school test scores and therefore these data are not available for comparison on sites that accept data only from state agencies. We are very proud of the fact that our students perform well above the percentages of area schools.

ITBS Test Scores Prior to the 2013-2014 school year, Immanuel administered the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) on an annual basis. Scores on the ITBS are reported as percentiles. Percentiles are different from percentages in that percentiles indicate how a student scores as well as, or better than, students who are either the same age or in the same grade as those in the norm group taking the same test. Percentiles do not indicate the percentage of questions on the test that were answered correctly by the student. Throughout the time that the ITBS was administered at Immanuel, our students consistently performed extremely well on the test.

School Rating Sites To ensure the validity of their recommendations, some school rating sites only accept test scores from state boards of education. While this policy makes sense, it also makes it difficult for parochial schools to share their standardized testing information with a wide audience. The scores of students at Immanuel Lutheran School show a consistently high level of achievement; news we are happy to share!

School districts generally report student performance according to what percentages of their students are at or exceeding grade level norms. Public schools administer the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers [PARCC] assessment to gauge student performance. Those scores are usually published through various news outlets and reported to the Illinois State Board of Education [ISBE].
