Athletics
Immanuel athletes and fans consider all opponents as friends and guests, and as such, treat them with courtesy and respect. Immanuel fans applaud our team and our opponents and reflect Christian conduct and sportsmanship.
The athletic program at Immanuel Lutheran School provides students with all levels of athletic ability an opportunity to participate in organized sports activities that are Christ-centered. ILS encourages all students to try various sports as a way to have fun, stay healthy, and learn something new. All teams follow a no-cut policy. Along with learning the fundamentals of any particular sport, our student athletes also learn the importance of Christian behavior in their relationships with teammates, coaches, and athletic opponents.
Parents and coaches support this growth as they encourage our student athletes to develop and improve their God-given skills and abilities. At ILS we consider athletics an opportunity to teach life skills and develop leadership qualities.
Competitive sports at junior varsity [Gr. 5-6] and varsity [Gr. 7-8] levels include cross country, volleyball, basketball, cheer, and track. Immanuel's sports and cheer teams participate in Illinois state championship competitions.
Eagle Booster Club The purpose of the Immanuel Eagles Booster Club is to support and promote all extracurricular athletic programs at Immanuel Lutheran School. The Eagles Booster Club is funded by concessions sold at home games and through athletic fund donations. The Booster Club is coordinated completely by volunteers--every family with a son or daughter participating in the Immanuel athletic program volunteers at sporting events in the areas of concessions, score book, and tournament help. Members of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School community who do not have children in athletics but would like to support the Eagles program are welcomed as active members and volunteers.
