Middle School
Grades 6-8
Research shows that the family setting for middle school students imparts a sense of security, which provides space in which these students learn and thrive. Challenging and rigorous curriculum offers opportunities for mastery and advancement to high school or prep school, and then universities and military academies.
Immanuel middle school provides all the academic elements in a departmentalized setting with daily religion, science, literature, math, history, and English/writing classes. Further enhancements include Outdoor Education in Grade 6, middle school electives, and overnight class trips. Previous trips include Washington D.C., and Greenfield Village, MI, along with day-trips to Chicago museums and Springfield, IL.
Our middle school mathematics curriculum meets or exceeds proscribed national standards and includes Algebra available in Grade 8 for students on the accelerated path. Graduates typically test into high school honors Algebra and Geometry, both regular and honors.
Our middle school Spanish curriculum provides the opportunity for graduates to test into second-year high school Spanish classes, as high schools may allow.
Middle school students dive deeper in God's word and work through the practicalities of applying these lessons to their daily lives. All students at all levels are encouraged to share God Sightings that exemplify God at work in their lives, but these connections are especially important for tweens, whose personal identities are beginning to take shape.
